Department New Maintenance, Storage and Office Building with Stormwater Detention Facilities
Site development, stormwater management plan and permitting, layout and design of concrete parking lots, and design of new Maintenance Garage, Storage and Office Building for the City of Hannibal’s Public Works and Street Department Building: pre-engineered steel building with standing seam roof system (18′ eave height): 140’x100′ (80’x100′ office with mezzanine for parts storage). Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing components included area lighting on exterior of building, parking lot lighting, underground electrical service line, restroom facilities for shop and office; wash bay with sump pump; HVAC (gas-tube infrared heating system in shop, high efficiency gas heating and cooling systems in office). Bridge No. 147002.1 on County Rd 506
As the selected bridge engineer by the Maries County Commission to design a replacement bridge on County Road 506, replacing an aging and undersized structure. The project was submitted for soft match credit under the Federal Highway Administration’s off-system bridge replacement (BRO) program coordinated by the Missouri Department of Transportation. We completed bridge engineering and design services, land survey, river survey, easement and right-of-way (ROW) acquisition assistance, project management, contract administration, construction engineering, construction management and observation services for this project. Bridge: Three-span (44′-44′-44′) Bridge substructure design (end bents on H-piles/intermediate column bents on drilled shafts) Bridge superstructure design, pre-stressed I-girder beams, concrete slab, cast in place concrete bridge rail. Our bridge engineers are specialists in managing projects funded through the MoDOT BRO/BRM and Surface Transportation Programs (STP), critical funding that allows local governments the opportunity to improve their transportation infrastructure at a realistic cost to the citizens. While the Off-System Bridge Replacement (BRO) Program is generally utilized for larger structures, the Surface Transportation Program (STP) used for roads and special local projects including sidewalks. Through our decades of work with these important funding tools, we are inherently familiar with the federal requirements that govern the various MoDOT Programs.
Stream Bank Stabilization
Stream bank stabilization is an integral part of all bridge design projects. Our Structural and Bridge Division has extensive bridge design experience as stated previously, and therefore has exceptional knowledge and experience to stream bank stabilization. Bridge design incorporates fluvial geomorphic analysis as required to design stable slopes associated with bridge structure. These technical capabilities can be applied to any point on a particular stream. Eroding stream banks can be addressed using methods including bio-stabilization lanting, rock revetment, or retaining walls. Selection of the method best suited to the particular project is based on factors such as soil conditions, budget, environmental concerns and community relations.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
